Ajahn Ñāṇamoli and the Monks from Hillside Hermitage and Samanadipa Visit Vihara Pod Lasem
On August 22, we will once again welcome our venerable friends from Hillside Hermitage and Samanadipa to Vihara Pod Lasem. This year, in addition to Ajahn Ñāṇamoli, we will also be joined by Ajahn Thanyo, who stayed at VPL last year and helped us during the intensive adaptation work, as well as Bhante Ñāṇadipo and Bhante Samidhi.

On Sunday and Monday, we invite all those interested to attend meetings with Ajahn Ñāṇamoli.
One of the elements of this year’s visit will be the establishment of the sīmā for Vihara Pod Lasem — the boundaries within which the monastic Saṅgha meets on uposatha days and carries out formal decisions concerning its community. It is within the sīmā that the most important procedures of the Saṅgha can take place, including upasampadā — the admission of new members into the community of bhikkhus. For the upasampadā procedure, outside the area of the Ganges Valley, the presence of a Saṅgha consisting of at least five bhikkhus is required.
Following the establishment of the sīmā, the upasampadā of sāmaṇera Dżotiko will also take place. After a year as a novice, he will be admitted into the Saṅgha of bhikkhus.

Sunday 23.08
At 10:00, there will be the offering and taking of the meal. After cleaning up and a short break, around 12:00, we invite you to a question-and-answer session with Ajahn Ñāṇamoli.
Vihara Pod Lasem will be open to visitors for the remainder of the day. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to meet other practitioners and spend time together in the space of the Vihara.
Monday 24.08
The upasampadā of sāmaṇera Dżotiko is planned for around 6:00 in the morning, immediately after the establishment of the sīmā. Those interested in attending will be welcome to arrive at VPL in the early morning hours. Due to the limited space available and the requirements of the Vinaya, which specify the conditions necessary for the proper carrying out of the upasampadā procedure, the participation of lay visitors will be limited to some extent.
After the completion of the upasampadā, the day will continue in a similar way to Sunday. At 10:00, there will be the offering and taking of the meal. After cleaning up and a short break, around 12:00, we are planning another question-and-answer session with Ajahn Ñāṇamoli. Vihara Pod Lasem will remain open to visitors for the rest of the day.
We invite you to spend this time together at Vihara Pod Lasem.
